Kaye my lovely twitter friend @wallprice has a love for making Amigurumi,
So I thought I too would give it a go, only so many motifs and squares I can crochet!

So far I have managed a stuffed ball shape, obvious idea is an apple so may crochet a bowl of fruit!

Still some way to go but can already feel the addiction creeping up! I am Hooked (pun intended ;) )

Been Crocheting with a fine yarn to get a lacy effect.
That's what I have done so far but wonder if there's a way of shaping them a bit more.
Also I have no idea what to do with them now?!
Great fun to do, wish they had a good use! guess the flat will just have to be laiden with coasters and doilys lol

Have been such a very bad blogger lately. I do hope that I pick up in the summer months. Been a very busy mummy and crafter! Just wanted to share my new dramatic! hair cut! everyone in the hair dressers called me brave (Had about 1 foot cut off!) but it wasn't brave at all, I had fallen out with my hair a long time ago and it felt liberating to have the Evil hair chopped off! I am a happy Bunny :D

The Easter venture is beaded bookmarks for friends and family.With Summer looming am hoping the feedback is positive and they sell too!

I love the stone beads I have been working with, very Earthy and natural feeling.

With the chidlers off for 2 weeks production is almost to a halt!

but so far the weather has been so lovely!

I am enjoying my time with the Kids but feel worn out already!

I have been practising my Zip's and am now quite confident with the quality.

Sara was such a Diamond, Once again! and sent me some lovely pieces of fabric to Play with.

The kids Quickly Chose what they wanted and put in their orders! (Wish they'd pay up though!)

This is My 5 year olds Purse with a polka linning she chose. :)

I have also been practising Free Machine sewing. I think it is a craft technique that I may have to forget about using! Eldest daughters CD Pouch, an example.

An Ode to Sara

Well my friend Sara @ All About Eden posted a fantastic tutorial on a pouch , for multimedia items or whatever you choose!

Well I started mine with no idea what would live in it! I did make the loop for the button but then omitted it as I hadn't concidered my applique being in the way *blush*

So I chose to make my pouch into a cigarette pack holder, I am an ex smoker and sick of seeing packs lying around from my other half, he is always changing packs because he can't stand the new "health warning images" so this suits us all :)

Rediscovering Embroidery

Theres no point in sewing with a machine if My hand sewing isn't up to much now is there!?

So I decided to don the hoop and threads again and try a few stitches and embellishments .......

It's a start! to be perfectly honest I struggle just seperating the threads! Rome wasn't built in a day.

A Lesson Learned

My Millie (5) found a Tamagotchi in the bush at the supervised playground, she handed it in like a good honest girl :) now it's been 3 months! no one has claimed it so she now has it! She was over the moon!

However, with 6 tamogotchi's between them before, I was only too pleased when the batteries failed them and I could stop pandering to their every needs everyday!

So Once again I find myself jumping up to the sound of bleeps every so often during my day!

My New Sewing Machine!

I have managed to revive my camera briefly and after 2 hours! have managed a couple of Pics :)

Christmas was A Lovely Hectic time and bought me a very Happily recieved Surprise gift from my Mother In Law .......................................

I haven't named it, yet! but I am loving it!
My first project was to make my Daughter (9) a knitting Kit, I came up with this

Special Thanks go to my darling Other Half for the donation of his White trousers and gingham shirt!

Next on my List was my 5 year old daughters request for a triangle door hang with a pom-pom and strawberry on it! bless her.

I have received a bunch of Halloween goodies including a Fake worm

(with a warning, "I am for scaring not for eating" yet I still had a little Sniff, Poke and yes even a lick! *Blush* )

Some much needed Orange and Black papers amongst other goodies which my children will be thrilled with too. I hope to produce something half decent with the papers and post some pics!

1)
I was coeliac (Allergic to Gluten) as a child, thankfully I out grew the condition in my late teens.
Discovering Doughnuts and fresh baked bread was a heavenly Joy!

I had a friend at school who said I could eat the remains of her cake mix as her mum had used gluten free flour; She lied and I was very poorly sick and missed the party.
(that was nearly 30 years ago!)

2)
I don't hold grudges.

3)
A brick wall fell on me when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I suffered nothing more than a grazed shoulder! and I had no top on!

4)
My family owned a pure white cat called fluffy,
she had 3 ears, 1 eye and 2 club paws! (she hated me!)

5)
My name "Buffy" is a pet form of "Elizabeth" As a little girl I used to say Lily ~ Buff and the Buff stuck, I was chuffed to see this in a baby names book recently!

I have always lived around this area and my children attend the same school as I did,
Some of the teachers from my days are still there!

I completed a 5 year Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship at Imperial College and went on to work there as a workshop Technician. It was the last year and as far as I know the last Company to offer such an Apprenticeship as the old school apprenticeships are now long gone!

Run for the Camera! The Sun is shining!

Having received my delivery of a new knife I thought I would put it to the test with a little paper cutting. It passed the test and got my eldest hooked on stenciling Rock Stars for his own Banksy style posters! I never get to keep anything for long in this house!

I am also chuffed to pieces with a lovely set of cute Christmas stamps and have produced my first Christmas card of the year! Albeit a very simple design.

And finally I have got my website up and running! wooo Joy! :D

Like the true professional that I am, I made a set of Fimo Wine glass charms for a commission and failed to photograph them before Selling! D'uh

No! not Baking for my stalkees!

My youngest daughter has her 5th birthday tomorrow, along with her great nan's 92nd birthday! so we have all been a cup cake a making! 5 (genuine kids) and an overgrown kid (ie Other Half!) and I, knocked up some cupcakes for the class tomorrow. nowt too exciting but trust me, hectic enough! As for me! Today I have mostly been stalking blogs and adding them to my list, I am in awe! each one has taken away my hours, looking agasp and enjoying!

Clapped out cars and Crochet!

I am off to a start, not necessarily a good start but a start all the same!

I have managed to fix my Camera, all by myself with no expense spared.

Albeit in a "Clapped out second hand car" knack type way. ie to make it work you have to have the right knack to it and pull out the lens by hand at exactly the right time!

My little "pop up" tent has arrived and I have managed to get in an hour of experimenting with taking pictures. The natural light today was too "grey" so I tried a lamp which is a tad too "Orange" Ah well, guess I will have to add a "White lamp" of sorts, to my list of things i need / Want to buy. All necessary items of course! Such as Crochet needles, Yarn, Wire, sewing machine and Fabrics.

Not sure if wanting to "Have a Go" at everything is a good thing or bad! It is so hard not to dabble when surrounded by so many creative souls!

The Blogging Begins!

(Halloween Pumpkin from last year, it's nearly here again!)

I am a stay at home mum to five lovely (most of the time!) children.

I like to spend my spare time making Arts and Crafts. Card Making, Knitting, Scrap booking, Painting, Drawing, Modeling with Recycling materials, Fimo, Wirework, Beading and Jewellery making are all the things I have dabbled in so far. My latest goals are to try Crochet, Aplique and wire crochet / Knitting.

I am always trying new methods and "Giving things a go!"

I hope to keep this blog to show my journey through crafting and hopefully my improvements!

Unfortunatley my Camera is in need of repair! So for now I will just upload some of my previous work.
